This list is new and is current as of December 4, 2009.

Daniel Age: 11 Years Sex: M
Special Need: Club Feet

Daniel is an active and outgoing boy who seems to have a positive attitude. He doesn’t express much sorrow, but does express the desire to have a mother and father. He sees other children from the institute go home to families and wants that for himself. He is a good helper and is loved by his teachers. He is good at sports and has won championships.

Webster and Wesley, twins Age: 12 Sex: M
Special Need: Cerebral Palsy, Left Limb Weakness

Wesley initially couldn’t walk or take care of himself upon admission. However, after rehabilitation treatment, he gained the ability to walk, crawl, stand up, sit down and use the bathroom. He and Webster both have normal intelligence and a desire to learn. Wesley wants to be a police officer when he grows up so he can help people like the officer helped him when he was found. Webster wants to be a doctor to help people like doctors have helped him recover from his cerebral palsy. He likes to chat, sing with peers and is a bit timid and shy.

Leo Age: 9 Sex: M
Special Need: Hand spasm

Leo is outgoing, stubborn, active, lovely and polite. He gets along well with others and is very helpful at caring for the younger children. He is always very happy and enjoys sports and playing games with kids. He studies hard and is able to recognize many characters and recite poems from the Tang Dynasty. He uses his left hand to accomplish daily tasks and is able to get himself dressed and use chopsticks to feed himself.

Benji Age: 5 ½ Years Sex: M
Special Need: Deformity of Fingers of both Hands

Benji has been living with a foster family since the age of four months and is thriving. He can walk, run, jump, stand on one foot and has good motor development. He is active and clever and fond of being praised. He likes to ask questions and often wants to know why his hands are different. He tries to hide them so as not to appear different from others. He loves to play with other kids, especially kick ball and is fond of music, singing and talking. He loves to be outside and is sometimes stubborn and even pouts to resist.

Niva Age: 6 Years Sex: F
Special Need: Cleft palate and repaired cleft lip

Niva is active and outgoing when she is around familiar people. She is very feminine. She was born premature, so she had some developmental delays, but appears to have caught up. She had her lip repaired and an attempt was made to repair her palate, but there is still a small hole near her nasal cavity.

Samantha Age: 4 Years Sex: F
Special Need: Limb Differences

Samantha has limited motion in her lower limbs. She has been in rehabilitation training, but still has difficulty with her joints. She is now able to sit straight and grasp objects. She has a ready smile and has been in the mother’s love program, getting affection and attention from her assigned “mother.” At two years old she is now able to hold her own bottle to drink, speak simple sentences and play with toys. Her favorite toys are the electronic organ, as she likes to shake her head and move her body to the music. She is very active, loves laughing and gets along well with other children.
