Two Children Who Urgently Need Families: Mariella and Brayden

October 6, 2014 Advocacy, Family Found 3 Comments

All children need families.  We know this.  And if you are even reading this post, then you are probably aware that the need for families to step forward and care for orphans worldwide is GREAT.  It is actually quite overwhelming at times.  Someone even told me the other day while having a conversation about the orphan crisis around the world, “I just can’t even let myself THINK about it.  It makes me too sad.”  But therein lies the problem…we can no longer bury our heads in the sand and not think about it.  Children NEED families.  And some of them need them to arrive VERY quickly.

Like Mariella.

Update: My Family Has Found Me!

Mariella is 6 years old and is cute as a button.  Her file was originally prepared over two years ago and her diagnosis was right side hemiplegia.  She was described as extroverted, active, and LOVED to play with her friends and toys.

Her file was with Lifeline several months ago and she was known as Zinnie.  You can see her video hereThe password: zinnie1

But after 2 1/2 years of waiting for her file to be chosen, she still waits.  And it is apparent through recent pictures and updates that she is in desperate need of care that is not available to her at this time.  The last update received in September 2014 states that she is having difficulty eating and swallowing.  She does not talk.  You can watch her most recent video here. WARNING:  It is very hard to watch!

Mariella’s life depends on her family finding her SOON!  There are several opinions about what could possibly be going on to cause Mariella to decline so rapidly.  She needs a family to fight for her to receive the treatment and care that she needs.  Are you her family?

Her file is currently with BAAS.  For more information, please contact the Advocacy Team or BAAS.

And then there is sweet Brayden.

Brayden is almost 2 years old.  His file was originally prepared in September of 2013.  His diagnosis is cleft lip with no cleft palate (although it has affected his gum line).  He also has CHD and a droopy eyelid.  You can see he was quite a chunk with very squeezable cheeks!!!  What a cutie pie.

In a September update, this was one of the pictures of Brayden.  He also needs his family to find him quickly.  Are you his family?

Brayden’s file is currently with WACAP and was previously featured on our blog in July.   For more information on bringing Brayden home, please contact the Advocacy Team or WACAP.

So many children wait.  And they ALL need the love of a family.  They are ALL precious.  They are ALL important.  Just like Mariella and Brayden!

Whoever is advocating for Brayden, please contact me. Thanks.

  2. Maria says:

Are these two at the same orphanage?

  3. Amber says:

Maria, I don’t know if someone has answered you, but they are not in the same orphanage. Not that it matters, I suppose, since Mariella has a family, but Brayden still desperately needs a home!
