find my family: Maria

April 12, 2015 Family Found 4 Comments

Maria is 18 months old. She was born with a cleft lip and palate and was abandoned on the side of the road on the day she was born. She’s been getting great care in the orphanage (now living with a foster family within the orphanage) and is doing well. Maria also has a small heart defect (patent foramen ovale) which can be easily corrected in the US if surgery is needed, according to a US cardiologist who reviewed her file. She takes no cardiac medication, her activities aren’t restricted and her heart issue is considered mild.

Maria’s mental and physical development is considered age-appropriate. She is beginning to walk independently, has good fine motor skills, follows instructions, is close to her caregivers, loves to be cuddled and playing outside. Maria gets along well with other children and is described as active and outgoing. She enjoys riding on a toy horse and playing with noisy toys.

Melissa – Did you take a look at Maria’s file? Is she your little peanut? We have a daughter from China who had CL/CP and is doing so remarkably amazing! Just wondering what happened!
