urgent medical waiting child: Emery

July 14, 2015 Family Found 0 Comments

10 year old Emery is such a cutie! He’s been waiting for a family for far too long and he desperately needs a family to see him and to bring him home! Emery is diagnosed with beta thalassemia major. He needs blood transfusions approximately every 2-3 weeks and daily chelation medication to rid his body of the excess iron in his body to keep his heart and liver healthy. Emery is not receiving transfusions in China as often as he should be. Children with beta thalassemia major often live a very short life in China, but could live close to a normal lifespan if adopted by a family and given proper medical treatment/care. As of the last update in his file, Emery was not allowed to go to school because of his special need. Emery will need a family who can help him get caught up, but he just needs to be given that opportunity!

Emery is talkative and independent. He is also described as a good helper. He likes helping the nannies and helps to take care of the younger children as well by feeding them milk. He feels proud when he finishes a task or has accomplished something. Emery is said to get along well with the other kids his age. He likes playing with toys, watching tv, and outdoor activities-especially the slide. Emery’s photos are fairly recent, but his file is quite outdated so an update has been requested. Emery needs adopted! Could you be the family he’s been waiting for, for so long?
