Little Tia is 4 years old and listed with CCAI. Her special needs are listed as brain damage and low vision/blindness.
Tia has lived at Bethel since she was 2 years old (where she is known as Talitha). When she arrived she couldn’t move any of her limbs, lift up her head or sit up. Living at Bethel, she has received two hours of therapy every day and can now move her arms freely (although one side of her body remains more rigid) and can crawl a little bit. She can move from a laying down position to sitting up by herself. She can also stand up a few minutes at a time with support. Even though her paperwork says she is blind the staff at Bethel believes she has a little bit of vision as she is able to track people she knows. She can say mama and loves to babble along to music.
She loves music and enjoys dancing. Although she cannot see, she can distinguish acquaintances from strangers by their voices and will smile when she hears a familiar voice.
Please contact CCAI for more information on adopting Tia.
