Austin is the cutest little six-year-old boy around!

Austin can go up and down stairs, go down the slide, and ride the wood horse. He can chase and play with other kids. Austin can use a spoon to eat and a cup to drink water. He can put on and take off his clothes and shoes, unbutton and button, go to bathroom independently, and wash his hands after using the bathroom. He can brush his teeth and wash his face after getting up. Though he does not go to kindergarten, Austin learns a lot from the teacher at the orphanage. He is smart and has a quick response. He can recognize big and small, can understand inside and outside, knows many colors, and can recognize the numbers 1-20. He knows the difference between left and right and can draw simple pictures, such as trees, a sun, etc. Austin likes painting, coloring, and reading books.

The staff describe Austin as positive, active, talkative, smiley, cute, and handsome. He interacts positively with the staff and listens to the caretaker’s instructions. Austin likes playing with the other kids, imitating, and dancing. He can sing several children’s songs, recite simple poems, and can count from 1-30. Austin speaks in sentences of 5-10 words and asks appropriate questions. Austin is diagnosed with a transfusion dependent form of thalassemia and is newly listed with Madison Adoption Associates via an orphanage partnership. MAA staff have met Austin on multiple occasions and say that he is so cute, smart, extroverted, friendly, helpful, funny, and kind. There is a $2,000 agency grant with Madison Adoption Associates for Austin’s adoption. Other grants may be available based on the adoptive family’s circumstances. Agency grants are awarded as agency fee reductions. MAA also partners with the Brittany’s Hope Foundation for matching grants, which are given out twice a year and to families that already have their letter of approval from China.
