A Dad’s Heart on Adoption

Almost 15 months ago we brought home one of the biggest blessings of my life. Our daughter, Willow, has changed me forever and has made me a better man, father, husband and drawn me closer to our Heavenly Father. Her unconditional grace, love and pure joy for life are a daily reminder of how true Jeremiah 29:11 is for all of us!

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” – Jeremiah 29:11

However, I almost missed out on this incredible plan that God had for our lives because of my fear of the unknown, anxiety of how hard it may be and the feeling of wanting to be in control of a situation that felt completely out of my control. I now stand firm on the fact that Fear is from the enemy and a tool that Satan uses to try to prevent God’s plan in our lives. (Listen to the Song, Fear is a Liar by Zach Williams.)

My name is Tyler Richardson and I am 35 years old with four kiddos and a rock star wife who happens to be my best friend that I get to do this crazy life with. I was honored when asked to share my story and journey about bringing home our daughter Willow. Writing blogs is not my thing but, I love videos. So, leave it to a man to change things up a little bit. lol

I had a number of men that spoke in to my life that were huge turning points in my journey that took me from a no to eventually my best Yes! My prayer is that this will do the same for any dad/husband that watches this and encourages all of the wives/mommies out there that feel like they are having to drag or convince their hubbies to get on board.

Be confident in knowing that God’s timing is perfect and so is his plan.

I hope you enjoy as I share a little bit of my heart with you.
