Whatever Wednesday

On Wednesdays (and sometimes on Fridays) we post links that touch on special needs adoption. Our hope is that these small snapshots provide you with a glimpse of life after adopting through China’s waiting child program… both the long-term blessings and the challenges that come with parenting a child with special needs. We also hope to raise awareness about a variety of special needs.

Sara at Football and Fried Rice shares her heart as she and her family journey to their new daughter, Ruby, who waits in China:

Ruby Road: part II – The Evil of Envy {Double Disappointment}
Ruby Road: part III – Setting Out a Fleece
Ruby Road: part IV – Somewhere in the Middle

Donna at Treasured Pearls shares about adopting older boys, chronicling her family life that has recently grown by two older boys from China: TJ and JA. She also has compiled a wonderfully comprehensive link list on older child adoption.

Michelle at Michelle R Photography shares about her inspiring daughter, Kara, who came home from China almost 2 years ago at age 11.

Jenny at The T-Zone shares about her daughter Olivia’s very recent cleft lip and palate surgery, with some amazing before and after photos of her little one.

Nancy at Ordinary Miracles and the Crazy 8 shares about her daughter Tess, and the expectations versus the reality of adopting a very young child and long-term speech therapy.

If you have a post you’d like to share that depicts life with a special needs child, or you’ve read one recently that you think would be great to share here, please let us know! Leave a comment or email us at nohandsbutours@gmail.com.
