Urgent Heart Waiting Child: Tanner

March 20, 2015 Family Found 0 Comments

Meet Tanner! This little guy is in urgent need of a family. He has waited way too long with a serious Congenital Heart Defect. Tanner was born in June of 2005. He is now 9 years old.

Tanner was found at the age of 10 months old in a park in the province where he currently resides. He was found in a fur-collared jacket with a note with his birth date on it. For the next few weeks, Tanner resided at the local police station where he was then sent to the orphanage where he is still living.

Tanner’s file is old, but WACAP staff did get a chance to meet him. Tanner is a very bright boy, who recently learned how to play a musical instrument after just two classes! He was very nervous when WACAP staff visited, but he still communicated very well. Tanner likes to speak English and showed us a little of what he knows! He is in desperate need of a family to get him medical care.

Tanner’s medical portion of his file could use an update, but an echocardiogram from age three years. It appears that Tanner has a double outlet right ventricle, valve deformities, and some thickening of the heart muscle. This is very serious and Tanner needs a family to move quickly for him.

Physically, Tanner is very small due to his serious heart condition. His lips were blue and his fingers were stumped when WACAP staff saw him. He gets along very well with other children, and says he’d love a family with an older brother!

WACAP is offering a $4,000 grant for qualifying families, in addition to waiving their application fee and pre-approval deposit fee. Seriously interested families should download and complete their pre-application (no fee, no commitment) found here. You may email the completed pre-application to WACAP with your request and the first available case manager will respond.
