Summer will age out and no longer be available for adoption on her 14th birthday which is less than 2 months away on May 15th. She needs a family already in process who is motivated to expedite her adoption before this day. Summer has Cerebral Palsy and her gait is slightly affected. She is described as very sweet and mild. She can go up and down stairs holding the rail. She is independent in all of her self care. Her speech is not affected. She loves music and arts & crafts, she can play the piano with one finger.
For many more pictures and descriptions of Summer, please view her beautiful video.
Summer wishes to be adopted and be a part of a family. She is currently in the care of Starfish Foster Home. For more information on expediting an aging out adoption please visit the WARP Speed Adoption Facebook group. For more information please contact the Advocacy Team.
i would be very happy to make a home and family for Summer…i would not be eligible to adopt as my husband and i are 65 & 66 yrs old and retired…..however in very good health…i have adopted 5 special needs children over the years including 3 special needs children from South America….if there was a way to get Summer a Visa or something along those lines, my husband and i would love to offer her a home with us and we would be her sponsors….we would provide everything that an adopted parent would offer except for the legal paperwork as we are past the age of acceptance for adoption…..if this is of interest please contact me…..i have two adopted daughters Marissa and Liliana who have spastic quad cerebral palsy so Summers disabilities are nothing that we are afraid of….i have worked with special needs. and disabled children/adults for over 30 yrs so we are more than adequate for providing her a loving home and what she needs educationally and medically as well as love from a huge family….thanks so much …teresa winchell
