March 6, 2016 Children Who Wait 0 Comments

Redford is a handsome boy, who is 11 years old, and on the agency list at Hawaii International Child! He came to the orphanage when he was around 2 years old. Redford was diagnosed with Thalassemia, and currently receives transfusions every 3 to 4 weeks. His development has been on target, and he is an active and bright boy. Redford attends classes at the orphanage, and enjoys learning. He likes to play with his friends, and only occasionally has to slow down while running due to shortness of breath. Redford had his spleen removed a few years ago. They closely monitor his health, and he currently takes two medications to help with the Thalassemia. Redford is currently 49″ tall, and weighs 63 pounds.

He has expressed a desire to be adopted, and the orphanage staff is hopeful a family will make him their son. There is a $2,000 agency grant toward his adoption fees. We have families with experience raising children with Thalassemia, who would be happy to talk to you. You may see his info at Bring Hope to Children.
