Just look at this smile!
Two-year-old Scarlett has such a beautiful smile she loves to share with others. Scarlett has Down syndrome and though she is not yet talking, she does have good understanding. Scarlett was in care of the orphanage until May of this year. At that point, she joined a foster family.
If her foster mother tells her to come over, she will go to her and take her hands. She likes to explore her surroundings and follows directions too. If she put garbage on the floor and was told to pick it up, she would. Scarlett is able to take the cap off a pen, take off her own shoes, and put on her own pants after using the bathroom. Scarlett sometimes teases her foster grandpa by holding her grandpa’s waist and smiling at him. She loves to listen to children’s music. She will shake her head and move her body along to the music. Scarlett likes to play with her foster brother, but doesn’t like it if he bothers her. She is easily calmed down with a piece of an apple. Her favorite foods are peanuts, smashed bean bun, cake, and apples. She is not a picky eater and has a good appetite, even eating too fast at times. She gets quite excited when she sees her foster father get an apple out. She goes right over to him and can’t wait to have a piece! Scarlett is attached to her foster family and will wave goodbye when anyone leaves the home. She loves to give goodbye kisses too!
Scarlett is listed with Madison Adoption Associates via an orphanage partnership. There is a $1,000 agency grant with Madison Adoption Associates for Scarlett’s adoption. Other grants may be available based on the adoptive family’s circumstances. Agency grants are awarded as agency fee reductions. MAA also partners with the Brittany’s Hope Foundation for matching grants, which are given out twice a year and to families that already have their letter of approval from China.
