November 4, 2016 Children Who Wait 0 Comments

Quinten is an adorable little boy born in May of 2014 who is now 2 years old! He is very inquisitive and likes the attention of his nannies. He needs a family to love on him!

Quinten was just a few months old when he was found. After a search for his birth relatives was unsuccessful, he was taken to the orphanage where he has resided since that time.

This sweet boy has been slower with his development but has been making some great strides. As of December 2015, he can crawl, stand while holding on to something, and even walk a couple of steps with his hands being held! Quinten’s language is delayed, but he is able to say the word “mama” and does babble often. He gets excited when he sees food and gets upset when other kids get food before him. He loves playing with blocks, a rattle, and loves to listen to music. He very rarely gets sick.

Quinten has been diagnosed with spina bifida and hydrocephalus. He has not received surgery as of December 2015. There is a CT scan of his brain and thoracic spine that is from August 2015 in his file also. His nannies have kept him from being too active, because they are worried about the tumor on his thoracic spine.

UPDATE: April 2016 Agency Partnership Trip

Quinten is an adorable toddler, who was appropriately afraid of us as strangers, but was happy playing with our toys as long as we didn’t get too close! He is diagnosed with spina bifida and hydrocephalus, but has not had surgery, nor is surgery planned at this time. Caregivers say his head is growing, but not too quickly.

Right before Chinese New Year 2016, he began pulling himself to standing using furniture but without help from nannies, and cruising along it. He can stand on his own for a short time, and take steps if his nannies hold his hands. He babbles and says a few simple words like “mama” and “nanny.” When playing with him, he will grab your finger if told. Caregivers say he’s an active boy, who will crawl all over the playroom. Quinten is a cute little boy with a mischievous smile, he needs a family to get him the medical care he needs.
