Waiting to be Chosen: Rose

July 8, 2017 Children Who Wait 0 Comments

Precious Rose turns 8 years old today.

Rose exhibits a beautiful smile, and embodies a beautiful soul. She has a laugh so contagious that even when she is being mischievous, it is hard to keep from laughing with her. She is very social and gets along with other kids wonderfully.

She has a real affinity to bond, and she is great at comforting others. She is tidy and orderly, and is thoughtful in returning things she has borrowed.

Even though Rose has Down syndrome, and needs some special care, she doesn’t let it keep her from doing what she loves, and it does not inhibit her affectionate spirit.

A few examples of what she loves to do are drawing and coloring, blowing bubbles, playing catch, and kicking balls back and fourth.

The best memory I have of her was when she was dancing during assembly line. She was always beyond excited to sing and dance. She was having a blast!

I also noticed that she has an eye for all things beautiful. She loved to dress up and wear flowers in her hair; but the colorful blossoms that decorated her dark head were nothing compared to the beauty that shown in her smile.

I want Rose to feel treasured and know that she is one of God’s beautiful creations, delicate and intricately designed like a rose. My prayer is that she will find a forever family who will share with her these truths, and reciprocate to her God’s undying love.
