Waiting for You: Eva

November 28, 2017 Children Who Wait 0 Comments

Prepare to fall in love with Eva, a 5-year-old girl with a beautiful smile who is described as sunny, happy, brave, and strong.

Eva likes watching cartoons and listening to music and loves to dance. Eva enjoys playing outside with the neighborhood kids. She has been living with a foster family since July of 2013 and has a very special relationship with her foster father whom she calls ‘uncle‘ in the traditional Chinese way that children address adult men. When she is frustrated or afraid, it is dear Uncle who can set things straight for her.

Eva has cerebral palsy (CP), which affects the right side of her body, but she can walk on her own wearing her orthopedic shoes (watch her videos below). Though the CP affects the use of her one side, Eva is compensating well with the other side. She receives physical therapy and everyone says how tough and amazing she is! Eva also has good self-care skills. Eva’s speech is significantly delayed, but her receptive language appears to be typical. She understands everything that is said to her and responds by nodding or shaking her head. Eva’s cognitive development is said to be normal. She is a social little girl who is happiest around other people.

Eva is newly listed with Madison Adoption Associates and they have requested an update.

There is a $1,000 agency grant with Madison Adoption Associates (MAA) for Eva’s adoption. MAA is offering an additional special $1,000 grant between Nov. 1st and December 31st, 2017 for families that sign on and contract during that time period for any waiting child! Other grants may be available based on the adoptive family’s circumstances. Agency grants are awarded as agency fee reductions. MAA also partners with the Brittany’s Hope Foundation for matching grants, which are given out twice a year and to families that already have their letter of approval from China.
