Urgent Waiting Child: Zain

May 4, 2018 Children Who Wait 3 Comments

We’d like to introduce you to one of the most precious faces you will ever see! Sweet Zain is a 3-year-old boy who is waiting for his family to see him and shout, “There he is, there is our son!”

As you can see, he needs to come home quickly…

Who will race to him and be so blessed to call him their own?!

Zain was abandoned when he was approximately one month old. After a search failed to find his birth parents, he was brought to the local social welfare institute. During his initial physical exam in May 2015, he was 8.5 pounds and 22 inches tall. In November 2017, at 2.5 years old, Zain weighed only 11 pounds and was 29 inches tall.

His file states that he drinks formula five times a day and eats a half bowl of food in the morning and afternoon. Love Without Boundaries will be providing Nutren, a high caloric formula, to this little guy in hopes that he can gain weight steadily.

In December 2017, it is said Zain can sit alone for several minutes using his hands for support along with some assistance from his caretakers. He likes to roll around on the playroom mat and will sometimes spin around on his tummy.

He can raise his head to watch other children playing and can crawl to them. He likes to hold toys while playing with them and will let out a giggle from time to time. He loves interacting with caretakers and enjoys toys that make sounds. Once he is tuckered out from playing, he will lay on the floor to rest quietly.

Zain’s special needs are Down syndrome and post-operative CHD (ASD, VSD, pulmonary hypertension). When Zain was approximately six weeks old, he was hospitalized for 16 days with severe pneumonia. He recovered momentarily and was admitted again with pneumonia several weeks later. He had open heart surgery in October 2015 when he was six months old and had a successful recovery. His file also includes a vaccination schedule, lab reports, hospital discharge records, echocardiogram results, CT report, and neuropsychological report. The ECHO, CT, and neuro reports are from tests performed in November 2017.

Zain’s file is currently with WACAP and there is a $4,000 grant available for qualified families.

Since his latest information is several months old, WACAP would love to request an update for an interested family. Please don’t hesitate to contact them at ckids@wacap.org.

This tiny boy deserves all that is wonderful in this world! All that his very own family can provide him – endless hugs and kisses, bedtime stories and lullabies, hours of swinging and sliding outside, a belly full of his mommy’s home cooking, and so much more. Can you imagine him in your arms?!

I’m really interested in this baby boy but I don’t know where to start! Can you please send me some advice on how to get started? We are an American family of six living in New England and totally new to the idea of adoption. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks.
