Waiting Child Spotlight: Xia

July 28, 2018 Children Who Wait 2 Comments

Meet Xia – she is a cheerful, smiley 9 year old! Could you be her forever family?

Xia loves to dress up in pretty clothes. She needs some help to determine the front and back of her clothes, but she can put them on independently. She cannot wait to show her friends her pretty outfits or pose for pictures! Xia loves to play with the other kids and they get along well. She is happiest when she is around other people!

Xia is pretty independent in her daily life – she sometimes needs reminders or a little bit of help, but she can do a lot on her own. Her nannies report that her cognitive abilities are average, but it takes her a little bit more time than her peers to learn new things. She can have simple conversations and follow simple instructions. Her caretakers say her learning abilities have made a lot of progress recently!

Xia’s file is designated as Special Focus, meaning she can matched to any family with a current, approved international home study. She is diagnosed with brain damage.
