Waiting For You: Charlotte

September 2, 2018 Children Who Wait 0 Comments

Charlotte is an adorable little girl, born in December of 2012, who has been in the care of her orphanage for just over a year and a half.

When Charlotte first came into care, she was found to have unclear pronunciation and was initially diagnosed as hyperactive. Later, Charlotte’s orphanage diagnosed her as having psychomotor delays and cerebral palsy, but also said that her physical development was not affected.

When she came into care, she could walk and say simple words. She liked watching TV and listening to music, but was afraid of strangers at first. Within six months, she was eating independently and being helpful. She could speak in the dialect of the area, but is learning Mandarin now too. She is toilet trained as well.

Charlotte loves watching cartoons and going outside. She gets very excited when she sees new things! Charlotte is active and restless at times, and does have trouble sitting still. She follows directions well and will quickly get something an adult asks for.

Charlotte likes other children and gets along with them well. She is described by her caretakers as a lovely child! Charlotte needs a patient, loving, and consistent family who can get her the medical resources she may need to thrive!

There is a $500 agency grant for Charlotte’s adoption with Madison Adoption Associates. Other grants may be available based on the adoptive family’s circumstances. Agency grants are awarded as agency fee reductions. MAA also partners with the Brittany’s Hope Foundation for matching grants, which are given out twice a year January and July) and to families that are officially matched with a child.

Charlotte needs a family with an approved home study to be able to move forward with adopting her. If you have an approved home study or a home study in process and are interested in adopting Charlotte, please fill out a free PAP Waiting Child Review Form, which can be found here.
