Meet Eliza!

September 10, 2018 Children Who Wait 0 Comments

Eliza is a joy-filled little girl, born in March of 2016 with Down syndrome and congenital heart defects: complete atrioventricular septal defect, ASD, and PDA, all of which she has had repaired.

Eliza has the best smile and is such a happy little girl… with the most kissable cheeks!

She is currently living with a foster family and she seems close to her foster mom. She can roll over independently and sits up well on her own. She can switch from laying down to all fours to move back and forth in a crawling attempt, but cannot crawl yet.

A visitor who recently met her said, “She mimicked my play really well (rattled a few toys, patted a balloon as a patted a different one). She had a really good grip on my hands and could pull herself up if she was holding me. She was a very engaging little girl. She made great eye contact, babbled when I spoke to her, and smiled if I smiled.”

Eliza is going to light up the life of a very lucky family and we can’t wait to know who that family will be!

A video of Eliza can be found here.

There is a $1,500 agency grant for Eliza’s adoption with Madison Adoption Associates. Other grants may be available based on the adoptive family’s circumstances. Agency grants are awarded as agency fee reductions. MAA also partners with the Brittany’s Hope Foundation for matching grants, which are given out twice a year January and July) and to families that are officially matched with a child. Eliza also has a new account on Reece’s Rainbow to help raise funds for her adoption here.

Eliza needs a family with an approved home study to be able to move forward with adopting her. If you have an approved home study or a home study in process and are interested in adopting Eliza, please fill out a free PAP Waiting Child Review Form, which can be found here.
