Jacob is 12 years old and listed with Cerebral Palsy. Although this precious child is in a wheelchair, he is said to be able to walk short distances with a walker, go up and down stairs with the use of the hand rail and is able to take care of himself, such as bathing, dressing and going to the bathroom. Jacob’s fine motor is good and he is stated to do well in school.
This sweet child is described as talkative, polite and helpful. He was cared for at a wonderful group healing home until he was sent to a foster family in 2013. Please read what was written about him from the group healing home he was living in up until 2013: “Jacob has a very strong faith in God and will share his faith with others. He is happy to prepare a short bible study which he presents very well. Adult believers are often surprised at the depth of his knowledge and understanding. He participates well in conversations and gives others opportunity to participate as well. He also has a mischievous streak and loves to laugh and have fun. Jacob has overcome enormous challenges, but remains a balanced, loving, and caring 12 year old. He would dearly love to have a forever family of his own. He has seen many children adopted over the years and continues to hold onto the hope that one day he will too.”
The directors of the HOL who have known Jacob since 2005 wrote the following: “Having been involved in Jacob’s daily life and care since 2005, we have no hesitation in recommending him for adoption. We believe that given the love and care of a family, physical therapy, and opportunities to participate fully in a range of activities, Jacob will achieve more than we could imagine.”
The sky is the limit for this child. There is no telling what he can accomplish with a family, access to mainstream education and churches. He could be a wheelchair using pastor or a doctor… He is really bright and has a very strong faith in God. He is bound to touch somebody’s heart. He is a very special boy!
