Meet Remi!

Oh goodness, just look at this tiny sweetheart!

Remi is the cutest little guy, born in June of 2017 with Down syndrome and a congenital heart defect (PFO). At the time his file was prepared, he had motor delays. He slept a lot and was said to be very mild-mannered. He loves colorful toys and being held by his caretaker.

His caretaker loves how precious he looks when he falls asleep in her arms.

Remi is listed with Madison Adoption Associates and we recently received an update with an updated photo (see below).

Remi could be home before his 2nd birthday and we pray he is!

Written update from July 2018:

1. Updated Measurements:

Height: 69 cm, Weight: 7.5kg, Head circ: 43 cm, Chest circ: 40 cm; Foot length: 10 cm

2. Language abilities:

He can make some sounds of “eh” “eh” but not so much words. He cries loudly.

3. Motor skills:

His foster mother will do some PT for him each day. He can move around on the mattress by himself. He will crawl to you if you shake the rattle to attract him. He will try hard to reach it. He can roll over well. He can hold a bottle to feed himself. He can grab things well. He can take off his socks quickly.

4. Mental ability:

He has Down syndrome so his mental ability is behind normal kids. He likes music and will dance when he hears music.

5. Physical development:

In the foster family, he eats more and more food. His face is round. He eats 150 ml now, compared to 130 ml before. He can eat half a bowl of rice cereal (100 grams). Now he is learning to eat congee.

On March 12th, 2018, he got his first tooth. Now, he has four teeth.

6. Daily schedule:

6:00AM get up and eat (milk 150 ml)
8:00 breakfast (rice)
8:30—9:30 PT + music
11:30 lunch (rice + milk)
12:30—14:30PM nap
14:30 PT + music
16:00 dinner (milk + rice)
16:30-20:00 activity + music
20:00 milk
20:30 go to bed
2:00AM milk



There is a $1,500 agency grant for Remi’s adoption with Madison Adoption Associates. Other grants may be available based on the adoptive family’s circumstances. Agency grants are awarded as agency fee reductions. MAA also partners with the Brittany’s Hope Foundation for matching grants, which are given out twice a year January and July) and to families that are officially matched with a child. Remi also has a brand new account on Reece’s Rainbow.
