Waiting to be Chosen: Quinton

August 13, 2018 Children Who Wait 0 Comments

Quinton is a precious little boy, born in July of 2016, who is described as fairly quiet. He rarely cries, unless he’s reaching for a cuddle and doesn’t get it! Caregivers say he has a gentle personality and that he will stamp his feet in joy while playing. Quinton is under the care of a wonderful care home in a large city in China, where he goes by ‘Sean’.

Quinton was originally diagnosed as having developmental delays and a heart condition (PFO). Eventually, he was diagnosed as having profound hearing loss in both ears. His healing home has gotten him hearing aids and he is a little more responsive than he was without them.

When Quinton was just over a year old, he was able to roll over, visually follow moving objects, and hold his head up while lying on his stomach, but not for a long amount of time. He was also noted to stretch out his hands to reach an object and he would sometimes put his feet into his mouth! When he saw food coming, he would make an anxious face waiting for it to get to him. He can now sit independently and he stands and walks with his hands held.

The doctors feel there is a very good chance that Quinton has a form of dwarfism and they also say that he will likely never need surgery for his heart. Quinton needs a patient and loving forever family who can teach him some sign language and get him the therapies he needs in regards to his motor development.

What lucky family will be blessed to call this cutie pie their son?

There is a $500 agency grant for Quinton’s adoption with Madison Adoption Associates. Other grants may be available based on the adoptive family’s circumstances. Agency grants are awarded as agency fee reductions. MAA also partners with the Brittany’s Hope Foundation for matching grants, which are given out twice a year January and July) and to families that are officially matched with a child.

Quinton needs a family with an approved home study to be able to move forward with adopting him. If you have an approved home study or a home study in process and are interested in adopting Quinton, please fill out a free PAP Waiting Child Review Form, which can be found here.
