Waiting to be Chosen: Violet

August 28, 2018 Children Who Wait 0 Comments

Violet is an adorable little girl who turned three in March. She is walking and talking and seems to woo the hearts of all of her nannies and guests – she likes to greet people and everyone likes her.

She likes people to take her hand and she sings “Little Swallow” while walking.

She has a complex heart condition for which she has received some surgical intervention; ultrasonic cardiogram suggests single ventricle, atrial septal defect and pulmonary stenosis.

A portion of an email from a pediatric cardiologist that reviewed Violet’s file and gave his opinion concerning her heart condition:

“It looks like she has a complex condition, and that the pattern of care she has received doesn’t fully fit with the diagnosis. In the US, a child born with this combination of conditions would be treated with a series of three surgeries which need to be performed in a defined order and at an early developmental timeline. She has received one or possibly two of these surgeries, but the timing and order are off.”

Her special need includes some big unknowns, but what we know for sure is this little one needs a family of her own – and soon – to give her the love and snuggles and medical care she deserves.

Are you that family?
